What sets this ski area apart
Nax lies on the north side of the Mont Noble above the Rhone valley, opposite Sion. Until the end of 2010 it was a municipality in its own right; today it belongs to the municipality of Mont-Noble.
The ski area is newer than you might expect. A chairlift runs to the Dzorniva mid station below the Mont Noble, and from there two chairlifts built in 2012 plus a drag lift serve the western side of the mountain.
Economically the village still lives mainly from farming; tourism has stayed modest and partly grew out of private initiative. For skiers that means short waits, little traffic, and a view across the Rhone valley you do not get in the large areas.
