Portal
About this portal
Ski area information the way it should be in 2026: fast, honest, without ten advertising banners.
Why?
The established ski portals look like they were designed in the 2010s: cluttered, ad-heavy, with rankings nobody can verify. This project tries a different route – curated data on the Swiss ski areas, an interactive map, a weekly magazine, and one focus nobody else covers in depth: summer skiing and the glaciers.
Transparency
- Status is seasonal, not live. It is derived from stored season data and maintained by hand during the season. We do not pretend to have real-time data.
- Figures are guide values. Many resorts use dynamic pricing, and slope kilometres are sometimes marketed across borders. We verify continuously against official sources (resort websites, Seilbahnen Schweiz, OpenStreetMap, GLAMOS/ETH Zurich).
- No paid rankings. Every sort order is based on figures you can check.
- Freely licensed images. The resort photos come from Wikimedia Commons and carry free licences. Author, licence and source of every image are listed under image credits. For eleven resorts Commons has no photo of the place itself; those show a winter landscape from the same region, clearly marked as a stock photo.
- Piste maps are linked, not copied. The drawn piste maps belong to the lift companies. We link directly to the original and additionally provide an interactive piste map built from open OpenStreetMap data.
