What sets this ski area apart
The Mythenregion lies around the Ibergeregg, a pass at 1406 metres that links Schwyz with Oberiberg over 17 kilometres. A mule track crossed the pass as early as the late Middle Ages, part of the old Schwyzerweg; the first road for vehicles came in 1873.
The area extends to Brunni and connects via the Ibergeregg to Hoch-Ybrig, so the two can be linked on skis. From Schwyz it is quick to reach on the A4, which makes the region a classic day trip for central Switzerland and the Zurich area.
Numerous raised and flat bogs surround the pass, the area is a cantonal nature reserve, and the moorland forests of the Ibergeregg were named landscape of the year in 2019. Ski operations and protected land sit closer together here than most visitors realise.
