What sets this ski area apart
Brambrüesch is the local mountain of Chur. The terrace lies on the north-eastern slope of the Dreibündenstein and belongs to the municipality of Churwalden, but it is reached from the city: twelve minutes on the lift and you are up.
That is the real distinction. Hardly any other Swiss ski area starts this squarely in the middle of a city, and it works accordingly as an after-work mountain. The Chur-Dreibündenstein lift company runs five installations in winter and is open on around 260 days a year, at weekends until late evening.
The area is not large, and with its base at the altitude of Chur it is not snow-reliable either. But as what it actually is, a city mountain with ski lifts, it has few equals in Switzerland.
